Jurisdiction Notice: Armidillo serves both US and Canadian visitors. This policy is designed to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Quebec's Law 25 (Act to Modernize Legislative Provisions as Regards the Protection of Personal Information), the FTC Act, and applicable federal requirements in both countries.
1. Who We Are
Armidillo ("we," "our," or "us") operates armidillo.com, a free educational resource about online safety, identity theft prevention, and fraud awareness for consumers in the United States and Canada. We are not a law firm, financial advisor, or government agency.

Information Collected Automatically
- Analytics data: IP address (anonymized), browser type, operating system, pages visited, time on site, referral source — collected via Google Analytics 4
- Cookies: Session identifiers, analytics cookies, and affiliate tracking cookies (see our Cookie Policy for full details)
- Affiliate click data: When you click affiliate links (e.g., to Aura), our affiliate partners may track which pages you visited and whether a purchase occurred
- Log data: Standard server logs including your IP address, browser, and access times (via Cloudflare)
Information You Voluntarily Provide
We do not currently operate contact forms or email subscription services. If you email us at info@armidillo.com, we will receive your email address and any information you include in that message.
3. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
4. Google Analytics (GA4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand site traffic. GA4 collects anonymized usage data through cookies. This data is processed by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043).
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also select "Essential Only" in our cookie banner to prevent analytics cookies from loading.

5. Affiliate Tracking
When you click affiliate links on our site (including links to Aura Identity Protection), our affiliate partners (currently Impact Radius/Aura) may set cookies or use pixel tracking to attribute purchases. This is necessary for us to earn affiliate commissions. See our Affiliate Disclosure for full details.

7. Your Rights — California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

- Right to Delete: You may request that we delete your personal information (subject to certain exceptions)
- Right to Opt-Out: You may opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal data for advertising purposes
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights
- Right to Correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by CPRA

8b. Your Rights — Canadian Residents (PIPEDA & Quebec Law 25)
If you are a Canadian resident, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) applies to our collection and use of your personal information in the course of our commercial activity (affiliate marketing). Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Access: Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: Request that inaccurate personal information be corrected
- Withdrawal of Consent: Withdraw consent to the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information at any time (subject to legal or contractual restrictions)
- Challenge Compliance: Challenge our compliance with PIPEDA by contacting our Privacy Officer
Quebec Residents — Additional Rights Under Law 25
If you are a resident of Quebec, you have additional rights under Quebec's Law 25 (which came fully into force September 2024), including:
- Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request deletion of your personal information when it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected
- Right to Data Portability: Request that your personal information be communicated to you in a structured, commonly used format
- Right to Explicit Opt-In Consent: Our cookie banner requires explicit opt-in for analytics and affiliate tracking cookies — this satisfies Law 25's consent requirements
- Right to Restrict Automated Processing: Object to decisions made solely by automated means

Cross-Border Data Transfers (Canada)
As a Canadian resident, your personal information (including analytics data and affiliate tracking data) is processed by the following US-based third parties:
- Google LLC (Mountain View, CA, USA) — Google Analytics 4. Data processed under Google's Data Processing Terms and subject to Google's Standard Contractual Clauses
- Cloudflare, Inc. (San Francisco, CA, USA) — CDN, DNS, and server logs. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy
- Impact Radius / Aura — Affiliate tracking when you click our Aura link. Subject to Aura's Privacy Policy
These transfers are necessary to operate the site and fund our free educational content through affiliate commissions. By using this site, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different privacy laws than your province or country of residence.

9. Data Retention
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months per our GA4 settings. Email correspondence is retained until no longer needed. We do not maintain large databases of personal information.
10. Data Security
Our site is served over HTTPS (TLS encryption) via Cloudflare. We do not store credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive financial information. Our site is static HTML and does not have a user login system.
11. Children's Privacy
Our site is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at info@armidillo.com immediately.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
